'What! You too? I thought I was the only one”

“Life is partly what we make it, and partly what it is made by the friends we choose.” -Tennessee Williams (American playwright. 1911-1983)

Crash and Burn

"Let me be the one you call If you jump, I will break your fall, lift you up and fly away with you into the night If you need to fall apart, I can mend a broken heart, If you need to crash, then crash and burn, you're not alone"
-Crash and Burn by Savage Garden

ROAD BLOCK

aside from booking nightmares, airport booh booos, Edsa traffic , crowded malls, delayed flights, and more air pockets, my recent manila trip was full of road blocks!!!

Childhood is the most beautiful of all life's seasons.

For Cielo, Carlo, Von, and Jan, whom I love so so dear!!!
There is a garden in every childhood, an enchanted place where colors are brighter, the air softer, and the morning more fragrant than ever again.
~Elizabeth Lawrence

I am a Water Dog

People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people¡¦s confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.

Operation SMILE

In physiology, a smile is a facial expression formed by flexing the muscles most notably near both ends of the mouth. The smile can also be found around the eyes . Among humans, it is customarily an expression denoting pleasure, happiness, or amusement, but can also be an involuntary expression of anxiety, in which case it can be known as a grimace. There is much evidence that smiling is a normal reaction to certain stimuli as it occurs regardless of culture. Happiness is most often the motivating cause of a smile. Among animals, the exposure of teeth, which may bear a resemblance to a smile, is often used as a threat or warning display - known as a snarl - or a sign of submission. In chimpanzees, it can also be a sign of fear. (Freitas-Magalhaes, 2006).

Above are photos I personally selected from my image data bank to illustrate what smiling is about. The idea of posting this blog started when i gave a comment to kevin's default YM photo. Then, I ask him to give me options of his pictures were he sports that all out natural smile. I was surprise to receive an old memento from him! It was our picture taken when we had our "last" dinner together at Bourbon street, (thanks to Jigs Latoza for the treat). Surprised, I ask him, "why that picture?" he simply replied, "ang mga smiles n mkita mu are smiles na di pilit or pacute' haha' those were the smiles of happiness... in other words,, its all natural" a simple gesture which i shall forever keep and treasure. Much love Kevin!!!

Remembering...

Remembering a departed loved ones doesn't require grand celebrations. Few weeks ago, my sister and I pay homage to our dear lolo, lola and dad. My sister and I offered prayers and flowers to them. I am very thankful that we were young when dad died, at least the pain wasn't such. but as we mature, the memories linger on... the envy starts, "wala na ko ya tatay" kaluoy man ko ya" and there are moments when i try to question fate... but on the positive note, lossing them is a blessing in disguise. losing them forced me to learn to stand alone, to be independent, to be responsible in decision making... losing them gave me the sense maturity i have now. and ultimately it taught the greatest lesson of my life - that life is dynamic, you have to move on, fast and quickly...
