Nostalgia

I'm always having nostalgic moments every time i visit a toy shop.

Becoming ONE

I realized that being a teacher is incomparable. As we care for our students, we learn how to cover our sorrow with a smile. We learn how to stay vigorous despite all the task we endure. We learn how to give hope even though our's is unclearly seen. We learn how to give strength even at times that we are weak. Nobody would know what kind of life a teacher has... unless they become one.

Happiness can not be found when you seek it for yourself, but when you give it to others, it will find its way back to you...Happiness grows when it is shared..
It may not be so expensive, yet the worth is more than anything... (for tess, mads, & steven)

STARBUCKS at Eastwood in Libis Quezon City

more coffee jelly please... see you at starbucks...

I'm starting to be emo again...

someday you will forget about me... my name and who i am...
but even if you forget about me, i just want you to know...
I AM ALWAYS WILLING TO INTRODUCE MYSELF AGAIN...

Moving Forward

you may regret puting an end to something that once made you smile...

you might even cry your eyes out whenever you miss the way it used to be...

but remember that time heals almost everything...

and the time will when you will no longer cry when u remember it,

instead you'll smile and thank how better off you are since then.

Para kay R... Para kay K

If I give up on you I give up on me
If we fight what's true, will we ever be
Even God himself and the faith I knew
Shouldn't hold me back, shouldn't keep me from you

Tease me, by holding out your hand
Then leave me, or take me as I am
And live our lives, stigmatized

I can feel the blood rushing though my veins
When I hear your voice, driving me insane
Hour after hour day after day
Every lonely night that I sit and pray

We live our lives on different sides,
But we keep together you and I
Just live our lives, stigmatized

We'll live our lives, We'll take the punches everyday
We'll live our lives I know we're gonna find our way

I believe in you
Even if no one understands
I Believe in you, and I don't really give a damn
stigmatized
We live our lives on different sides
But we keep together you and I
We live our lives on different sides

We're gonna live our lives
Gotta live our lives
We're gonna live our lives
We're gonna live our lives, Gonna live our lives, Stigmatized

I Love Lady Gaga!!!

Here' the lyrics of Lady Gaga's Starstruck,
enjoy singing...

Groove, slam, work it back
Filter that, baby bump that track
Groove, slam, work it back
Filter that, baby bump that track
Groove, slam, work it back

Space Cowboy just play that track
Gaga in the room, so starstruck
Cherry cherry cherry cherry boom boom

Rollin' out to the club on the weekend
Stylin' out to the beat that you're freakin'
Fantasize on the track that you're tweakin'
Blow my heart up

Put your hands on my waist, pull the fader
Run it back with the original flavor
Queue me up I'm the twelve on your table
I'm so starstruck

I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up

Baby now that we're alone, got a request
Would you make me number one on your playlist
With your dirty headphone with the left side on
When you scratch back and forth back and forth uh-huh

Put your hands on my waist pull the fader
Run it back with the original flavor
Put the beat down first
Hoppin' from the chorus to the verse
(Frika frika reverse)

I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up

Hey, and I'm all like really really is that him
I haven't seen you before and you've got all them big wheels
Into that cash flow, I'm a fan of you, don't trip
Shawty say hand over you signature right here

Like it's just a dotted line and I'm supposed to sign
How she at it, a fanatic, and I think it's goin' down
She so starstruck, the gal all stuck
Like she had an overdose, to many starbucks

Ain't never seen a baller, paper that's that taller
Stunners that let their top back on their Chevy impalas
Hummers and all that fully loaded with two spoilers
What did you call that when she only worth two dollars

But that's another chapter, son of a bachelor
All on me, then start it up, baby act up
So please swagger, they're gonna dagger
Got what she want, shawty happily ever after

I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up

Groove, slam, work it back
Filter that, baby bump that track
Groove, slam, work it back
Filter that, baby bump that track
Groove, slam, work it back
Filter that, baby bump that track
Groove, slam, work it back
Filter that, baby bump that track

Baby now that we're alone, got a request
Would you make me number one on your playlist
With your dirty headphone with the left side on
When you scratch back and forth back and forth uh-huh

Put your hands on my waist pull the fader
Run it back with the original flavor
Put the beat down first
Hoppin' from the chorus to the verse
(I'm so, I'm so)

I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
I'm so starstruck (struck)
Baby could you blow my heart up
Baby could you blow my heart up

I'm so, I'm so

I Got 99!

Last December, my colleagues and I decided to go on a weekend get together to "detoxify" ourselves after a month-long stress brought about by so much research work for the university. And how did we detoxify ourselves from stress? by singing it loud! We went to MO2 Annex KTV at Smallville in Iloilo City to enhance our God-given singing gifts. with lots of food around we can't help but sing our hearts out loud.
by the way here's the lyrics of the song i sang which gave me a 99 point zero score. isn't it amazing????
I CAN'T FIGHT THIS FEELING - Chicago
I cant fight this feeling any longer Yet, I'm still afraid to let it flow What started out as friendship has grown stronger.I only wish I had the strength to let it show.I tell myself that I can't hold out forever.I say there is no reason for my fear.'Cause I feel so secure when we're together. You give my life direction, you make everything so clear.Even as I wander, I'm keeping you in sight. You're a candle in the window on a cold dark winter's night. And I'm getting closer than I ever though I might. And I can't fight this feeling anymore.I've forgotten what I started fighting for. It's time to bring this ship into the shore. And throw away the oars forever.'Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore.I've forgotten what I started fightin' for.And if i have to crawl upon the floor.Come crashing through the door.Baby I can't fight this feeling anymore. My life has been such a whirl wind since I saw you.I've been running around in circles in my mind. And it always seems that I'm following you girl. 'Cause you take me to the places that I thought I'd never find.Even as I wander, I'm keeping you in sight. You're a candle in the window on a cold dark winter's night. And I'm getting closer than I ever though I might. And I can't fight this feeling anymore.I've forgotten what I started fighting for. It's time to bring this ship into the shore. And through away the oars forever.'Cause I can't fight this feeling anymore.I've forgotten what I started fightin' for.And if i have to crawl upon the floor.Come crashing through your door.Baby I can't fight this feeling anymore. - Chicago

Line Art

I was fortunate to meet Ike, a fellow boarder at YBH here in Iloilo City. Unlike any average student, Ike seemed to possess the gift of artistry and intellect. His passion for philosophy, the arts, made him distant to some of the boarders that why he was labeled weird, indifferent, etc etc. Ike and I became good friends perhaps because we share the same passion. One night, he gave me a surprise gift. he gave me this beautiful line art which he didi while he was observing me watching television.

I got this image from Ike's deviant art website http://underwoodwriter.deviantart.com/art/Lloyd-Celis-29695090 with the following description... "A "characature" of my good friend Mr. Llyod Celis. They were watching something one night on the television and poof the idea just hit me and this is the result. "

Why are we still friends? (para kay kevin)

Every time I hear this song, it keeps me reminding about a very good friend Kevin...
He taught me so much about life, he was instrumental in shifting my paradigm - that life should be enjoyed with others, because at the end of the day, our riches will be measured by how many friends we have. BOTTOMLINE? R-E-L-A-T-I-O-N-S-H-I-P and relationships should be based on TRUST

Here's the complete lyrics of the song:
We do almost everything That lovers do And that why's it's hard Just to be friends with you And every time your heart is broken By the fool I want you to know That it hurts me too It's hard to wipe your tears away Knowing you should be with me, tell me
Why, why are we still friends When everything says We should be more than what we are And tell me why Every time I find someone that I like We always end up being just friends

I would hate for you to find somebody new Who you really love Cause it could mean losing you But am I a fool (girl) not to say If I'm always scared I'll lose you anyway Somehow someway I've got to choose Got to choose no matter if it's win or lose

I don't want to be like your brother I don't want to be your best friend I only want to be your lover When will this end? If I told you that I want to be in your life? If you could be the (wo)man in mine

Have you been to Dumangas lately?

Aside from being popular for local myths like the aswang, tiktik and mananangal, the town is also famous for Barquillos and homestyle cooking which will surely "aswang" you cravings. Last December 18, we at STI visited a co-faculty in Dumangas for a gastronomic treat and a taste of Dumangas' exotic and mythical sub-culture. The town' local color added mystery and intrigue to our culinary visit making it exiting, tempting and "that something in between" feeling... no doubt Dumangas has indeed captivated our hearts... and guess what, we went home intact, with all our body parts complete... lol

A Culinary Invitation...

Dine and Wine are something all of us want to do after a week-long hard work. That is why when Mannie Gruenberg of Emillion Specialty Restaurant invited me to a taste test, I eagerly told him, "sure, why not!"

The Culinary treat was made more special with the presence of some friends, Marichel Magalona and Kathy Villaon from the News Today, one of the leading newspaper in Western Visayas.

For more information of my culinary treat, here's the news release taken from the news today website http://www.thenewstoday.info/

Hot Off the Grill: A feast of grilled specialties at Emilion
By Kathy M. Villalon

The smoldering coals add to the flavor of food. When grilled properly, the meat becomes juicier. This is perhaps one of the reasons why grilled food is a favorite among many diners.

The Ilonggos have a flare for grilled food, be it as a chef or as a diner. Just like in Emilion Specialty Restaurant (Roadhouse) where chefs and diners are enjoying the experience of preparing and savoring, respectively, its Hot Off The Grill preparations.

The News Today and friend Lloyd Celis joined Manniel Gruenberg, manager of Emilion, to experience such. Everything that's stated on its table card were presented to us and we took bites of each delightful preparation.

Emilion's Hot Off The Grill products are Grilled Shrimp, Blue Marlin, Squid, Pork, Bangus, Shells and Chicken. When all ordered, these can already feed 15 persons. Each order can serve four persons for a very reasonable price. This is very ideal for the family or for barkadas, who, when they go Dutch, can actually find the fare very, very affordable.

"I want you to be back. Busog ka na, may take home ka pa at Emilion Roadhouse," said Gruenberg.

We finished the meal with JD Bakehop's Cherry Chocolate Mousse.

A Gift Giving Experience

Part of our corporate social responsibility at SMHCC, where I used to work for, is extending an extra mile to the in need individuals of the society. I am fortunate and thankful to the management and staff of SMHCC for being a part of this noble undertaking. it was a riching experience on my part.

Below is the press release pulished in Sunstar Iloilo:
Sarabia Manor gives out gifts to inmates
By Ramon C. Salvilla

SARABIA Manor Hotel and Convention Center's management team and officers, together with the members of the Sarabia clan led a gift-giving at the Iloilo Rehabilitation Center (IRC) last July 6 in commemoration of the late Dr. Salvador G. Sarabia, Sr. the hotel's founder.

Now, close to 785 inmates will enjoy the sports equipment like chessboards and basketball, other stuffs like T-shirts, bath towels, bath mats, pillowcases and assorted breads that were given to them.

"This gift-giving is done annually to pay tribute to the late Salvador Sarabia. He wants to leave a legacy and tradition of helping the less fortunate, because he believed nobody should be in prison," Roberto Laygo, hotel manager said.

The gift-giving team was composed of Laygo; Rex Velarde, Jr., finance manager; Lloyd Celis, communications supervisor; Noel Divinagracia, chief security and Tourism Undersecretary Salvador Sarabia, Jr.

Meanwhile, IRC Assistant Jail Warden Jimmy Almendros said, "I'm thankful for this stuff. It's a great help for our inmates to focus on sports instead of other things. Daku gid akon kalipay kay may mga NGO nga parehos sine."

At 6 p.m., a mass and a dinner were held at the Boracay Ballroom of Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center where family members, hotel management and staff, representatives from various corporate accounts attended.

Being Dynamic

I was given this opportunity to teach at two of the prestigious educational institutions offering tertiary education here in Iloilo City.
at first, I was hesitant to accept the offer.

when i was in college pursuing a degree in Liberal Arts, I always dream of going back to school and become a teacher. I promise myself that after graduation I will pursue a Master's degree either in English or Literature. once i have completed my academic requirements, i would apply for a teaching post.

Graduation day came and few months after, I started working as Public Relations Officer for Barcelo Sarabia Manor Hotel and Convention Center. After two years of PR work for BSMHCC I transferred to Mandarin Resorts and Properties.

The experience and the friendship I have established with the people in the hospitality and tourism industry gave me so much realization about life. that Life is dynamic, opportunities are almost everywhere, you just have to be competitive.

I equate being competitive with reinvention, so why not pursue a masters degree?

So, I went back to Iloilo, and enroll for an MA in Literature. I was twenty two then...
at twenty-four i was offered by the dean of the college, where i graduated, a post as assistant instructor at the department of humanities and the department languages.

at twenty-four, with only twenty-one units for my Masters degree in Literature, I started teaching Humanities and English subjects at the College of Education, College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Nursing in the University of San Agustin.
